Hi, I'm Lisa. I love art and delving into all kinds of hobbies. Here is another blog because a new package just came in again. I'm excited about this because it's the latest version of 𝚂𝚝𝚊𝚜𝚒𝚊 𝙱𝚞𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚝𝚘𝚗'𝚜 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚂𝚊𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚋𝚒𝚝𝚘 𝚃𝚊𝚛𝚘𝚝 𝟼𝚝𝚑 𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗.

This is a light-hearted, high quality, self-published tarot deck that is loosely inspired by the Smite-Waite concept. This deck helps spread positivity and spirituality without making reader's feel overwhelmed nor intimidated.

𝚂𝚊𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚋𝚒𝚝𝚘 came from two Japanese words 'sasurau' - to wander and 'hitobito' - each person therefore when translated means the wandering person or the wanderer who is in search for answers or wisdom. I think the author also made the title quite catchy to match with her own name. To many tarot enthusiast, this deck is popularly known as the 'Sassy Burrito' because of how it sounds like.

Now, let's get on to my review. The content will be about Packaging, Design, Quality, Pricing and Delivery. Unbiased scores will be given to each section and will be tallied at the end of this blog for the overall score and after-thoughts.

𝑷𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈

I got the deck in a solid lidded box designed with black and gold foils of the moth. However, it got light dents on the side of the box probably due to the shipping conditions. Luckily, It is intact and the box looked pretty decent and sturdy. It came in complete with the a 63-page booklet and 78 tarot cards that has golden gilt edges. I also noticed that even though this is already the 6th edition, it seems there aren't any changes done for this deck. I think the 6th edition was only meant to state that this is it's 6th printing/publication. It would have been surprising if the cover art on the box was changed a little bit to make it different than the rest.

𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏

I love the artstyle of Stasia Burrington. She used the modern watercolor style mixed with traditional sumi ink on paper to complete this deck. Her strokes are distinctive and gentle; the color chooses are vibrant yet very soothing. I love that she chose the Moth as the cover of the box because this symbolism definitely speaks about the kind of deck she created. I am also satisfied that she chose the black border and kept the label as yellow which made the art pop out from the card. The size is also very handy. It is 2.75'' W ×4.75 L which is just enough to be able to fit in the pocket and shuffle it within the palms of the hands.

𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚

I love the quality of the deck. First of all, the cardstock is a win already. It is very thick (around 330gsm) with golden gilt edges. Out of all the decks I currently own, this cardstock is my most preferred one. I bet this deck could last several years without an issue of folding and tearing. However, I am concerned with the golden edges because they could potentially come off little by little. As for the paper, she used smooth, glossy paper which brought more vibrance and life to her artwork. The booklet also has a glossy cover and a well-verse guide of the Major and Minor Arcanas. It's one of my favorite booklets at the moment. Lastly, the printing quality is amazing. There is not one faded or wrongly printed card in the deck.

𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈

If you plan to buy to this be ready for your money. The Tarot deck alone is roughly between $40-$43 depending from which site you buy. The artist is currently selling it on her Website and Etsy account. There are also other retailer selling it with at least a mark up of $2. The price is a little expensive compared to other decks in the market. I think that is due to it being an indie/self-published deck which I can understand. Although price is high, this deck seems to be a reader's favorite because of how unique and light-hearted it is. I got my money's worth upon receiving this deck.

𝑫𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚

I ordered this from Etsy about more than 2 months ago from USA. Delivery took a while due to the restrictions placed on overseas shipments. All I can say is there's still no change about our delivery system and customs responsibilities. You got to have a lot of patience especially during this conditions. I could just hope that it will be improved in the future. On the bright side, waiting for this deck was worth it. It was a breath of fresh air to finally able to get it out from the post office. I will not provide the score for Delivery because 1) Seller sent the item immediately as promised, 2) Delivery was done by third party courier which is out of the seller's responsibility.

𝑶𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔?

I am very satisfied of The Sasuraibito Tarot despite waiting for it for too long. I can't wait to use this deck for readings rather than just display it as collection because I find it intriguing and honest. The artist was patient and dedicated enough to push through into completing this deck within the span of 2 years. She deserved every recognition and support.
